With the increased use of ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and the confusion surrounding its actual use in the marketplace, I thought it appropriate to post this article I found on the web. It is written by South African automotive writer, enthusiast, and driver trainer, Rob Handfield - Jones.

His article on ESC and the importance of understanding it, is well thought out, clearly written and easily understood. It’s 2010 and ESC is coming, if not here already, in many fleet vehicles. With 1970’s driver-training curriculum still rampant in many of our driving academies, maybe this article will bring a clear and conscious awareness of the need to upgrade our perception of modern driving lesson plans.
